James and Timmy

James willingly looked out of the window at the sound of motorbike. Timmy too followed him and gave small barks as he lurked at the door to look outside. But there was no sign of him. Sadly he turned around and sat with his back at the door.

“Why hasn’t dad come yet? Mom says he will come soon.” James stroked Timmy’s fur.

Timmy looked up into his eyes and then buried his face into James’s lap. He had no answer. But he wanted to share the grief of his friend.

Little did the four years old James know that war was about to begin between the countries and being a soldier, his father won’t be back soon.
