That voice

Man on phone

And so it was answered,
All my years of silence,
All my moments of pain,
With the phone hung up,
With the sob in her voice.

That silence was soothing,
For it didn’t have pain,
That evening even sky
Welled up and wept.

The lump in her throat,
I could easily hear,
Though far away and lost,
I was yet her pal.

And I just stood still,
Staring through the glass,
Oblivious of what was,
But that voice surely made me
Feel Oh So Good!
